Powerful vector drawing application
Illustrator is a vector drawing application that is mainly used to produce logos, icons, cartoons and other graphic illustrations.
Software
Illustrator has become the standard for producing vector graphics. These, like fonts, can be scaled to any size without worrying about resolution and reduced quality.
Since Adobe's acquisition of Macromedia, Illustrator effectively replaces Freehand and now with it's integration with Adobe Creative Suite is a very powerful and popular package.
Graphics
You can place images from software like Photoshop into Illustrator documents but these are usually embeded, although more recent versions now have a Links option like InDesign. If graphics are linked, make sure to include these with your Illustrator document.
We would recommend creating a PDF file of any work you produce in Illustrator and supplying this to us for print. This is easily done from the File menu.
